| Obverse description | Central field features the large Arabic numeral denomination '٥٠٠' (500) with the word 'ليرة' (Livres) below, incorporating a latent image security element within the numeral. The legend 'مصرف لبنان' (Bank of Lebanon) arcs along the upper portion of the coin within a beaded inner border. The date in Eastern Arabic numerals appears in the lower exergue, also within the beaded border. The entire design is contained within a finely dotted outer rim. |

| Additional information |
The Banque du Liban introduced the latent-image security feature to this denomination as part of a broader effort to combat counterfeiting in a country where currency fraud had been a persistent problem since the civil war years. The 500-livre coin itself had existed in earlier forms, but the clad iron composition of this series reflected a cost-driven reformulation as Lebanon's economy continued to strain under political paralysis and repeated government deadlock throughout the 2010s.
The latent image — visible only when the coin is tilted — was a relatively rare security measure for a circulating base-metal coin at this value level.
