An unusual production split: the 2011-dated notes were printed by De La Rue in London, while the 2012 issue switched to Oberthur Fiduciaire in France — same denomination, same design cycle, two different security printers. This kind of mid-series contract change is uncommon and typically reflects competitive retendering or supply pressures rather than any design revision. The signature pairing changed simultaneously, with Vicente Bengoa replaced by Daniel Toribio as Finance Minister in 2012.
Héctor Valdez Albizu's presence across both issues reflects his unusually long tenure as Governor of the Banco Central — he has held the position across multiple administrations since 1994.
