| Obverse description | The Philippine coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a radiant sun with eight rays in the upper left, three five-pointed stars arranged across the chief, a sea lion passant in the lower left quarter, and a castle or lion in the lower right quarter. The shield is rendered in high relief against a mirror-like proof field.
