Reverse description The Arabic value ""ريال ٥٠٠""‎ (500 riyal) is printed in the center of the reverse, the numeral (٥٠٠) and word (ريال) printed on separate lines, and arched below it on a single line is the English value, ""500 RIALS"". Printed along the upper periphery of the coin is the Arabic title of the Central Bank of Yemen, ""البنك المركزي اليمني"" (al-Bank al-Markaziyy al-Yamaníyyun), starting at the right side of the coin, curving downward at the top, and concluding at the left rim. The English equivalent, ""CENTRAL BANK OF YEMEN"", is curved around the lower boundary of the piece. Inscribed in Eastern Arabic numerals at the left side of the coin is the Gregorian date ""٢٠٠٤"" (2004), and written at the right is the Islamic date ""١‎٤٢‎٥‎"" (1425).
