| Reverse description | A highly detailed three-dimensional sculptural representation of the Black-veined White butterfly (Aporia crataegi) dominates the reverse field, its delicate white wings with prominent black venation rendered in vivid colorized enamel against a naturalistic background of lush green foliage and blossoms. The butterfly's body and wing structure are depicted with exceptional realism, rising in relief from the coin's surface. The curved legend 'EXOTIC BUTTERFLIES' arcs across the upper portion of the field in Latin script, while the species name 'Aporia crataegi' appears in the lower right exergue area in italic lettering. |

| Additional information |
The Black-veined White (Aporia crataegi) has undergone dramatic population collapses across much of Europe and Central Asia since the mid-twentieth century, attributed largely to pesticide use and the decline of traditional orchard farming — the hawthorn and blackthorn hedgerows that host its larvae having been systematically removed. Mongolia issued this coin under its long-running natural history series, which has consistently drawn collector interest for pairing .999 silver with insect and wildlife subjects underrepresented in Western numismatic programs.
