| Reverse description | The reverse bears a finely modelled high-relief effigy of a standing woman in three-quarter view, her long hair falling to one side, holding a vessel or urn before her. An abstract textured background fills the upper left field, evoking themes of culture and development. The legend 'KADINLARIN ON YILI 1984' arcs along the upper periphery in Latin characters, while 'UNITED NATIONS DECADE FOR WOMEN' curves along the lower periphery, together presenting the coin's commemorative theme in both Turkish and English. The design was engraved by Suat Özyönüm and reflects the humanist artistic style prevalent in Turkish commemorative coinage of the period. |
