Reverse description The reverse presents three figures in traditional indigenous Ecuadorian ceremonial costumes rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored field. The central and largest figure wears an elaborate feathered headdress, richly embroidered garments, and ornamental regalia; to the left stands a smaller figure in colonial-influenced dress playing a drum; to the right appears a third costumed figure similarly attired in indigenous festival dress. The curved legend ENCUENTRO DE DOS MUNDOS (Encounter of Two Worlds) arcs across the upper field, while the denomination 5000 SUCRES is inscribed along the lower rim and the date 1997 appears at the lower left.
