Obverse description Black letterpress on red-brown underprint. The Jersey arms vignette occupies the upper left, with the issuer title in blackletter script across the top. The promise-to-pay clause is rendered in flowing copperplate script across the centre, flanked by the denomination numeral '6D' at right and 'SIX PENCE' in bold capitals below. The serial number appears twice, at upper right and lower left, with the Treasurer's manuscript signature and title at lower right.
