| Obverse description | Right-facing draped and armored bust of King Carlos III, rendered in high relief with elaborate period court dress including a lace cravat and decorative epaulettes. The king's wig with side curls is rendered in fine detail, characteristic of late 18th-century Spanish colonial portraiture. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading from the lower left, with the mint date prominently placed in the exergue below the bust. The coin's broad milled border frames the entire design. |
