Obverse description Armored draped bust of King Carlos III facing right, rendered in high relief in the Spanish colonial portrait style. The king's hair is elaborately curled and tied with a ribbon, and his chest is adorned with ornate armor and a decorative collar visible at the truncation. The date appears in the exergue below the bust, flanked by dots. A circumferential Latin legend encircles the effigy, separated from the milled border by a narrow flat rim.
