| Obverse description | Draped bust of King Carlos IV facing right, rendered in high relief in the neoclassical style. The king is portrayed wearing an elaborately embroidered military coat with a lace jabot at the collar, his hair dressed in the late 18th-century fashion with a tied queue. The circumferential Latin legend reads CAROL·IIII·D·G· HISP·ET IND·R·, abbreviating his royal titles as King of Spain and the Indies, with the mint date positioned in the lower exergual area between two pellets. |
