Obverse description Central device depicts the Bolivian coat of arms: a triangular mountain landscape with a llama standing to the left at the base, a sheaf of wheat to the right, and a radiant sun rising behind the mountain peak. Below the central device, a row of seven five-pointed stars is arranged in an arc. The surrounding legend reads REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA, with the denomination 8 S, date, assayer initials, and fineness mark 21 Qs arranged around the lower periphery, all within a milled border.
