Obverse description Central field displays the enamelled coat of arms of the 89th Salerno Infantry Battalion, featuring horizontal gold and red bands with a blue diagonal band bearing three golden fleurs-de-lis (Bourbon), and a canton charged with a golden trident. The shield is flanked by laurel branches and surmounted by crossed rifles and a military helmet in relief. A ribbon scroll in the lower field bears the unit motto.
