Obverse description Bare head of Herod Philip II facing right, rendered in a plain, unidealized style characteristic of Herodian provincial coinage. The portrait is set within a beaded border, with the Greek legend ΦΙΛΠΠΟΥ disposed around the field. The die work is typical of the local Caesarea Philippi mint, with a somewhat summary but recognizable royal effigy.

Reverse description An olive or laurel wreath occupying the central field, tied at the base, rendered with individual leaves visible on both branches. The regnal date LΛΔ (year 34) appears within the lower opening of the wreath. A beaded border encircles the design. The composition is characteristic of the small bronze prutah-type issues struck under the Herodian tetrarchs.
