| Obverse description | Irregular hammered silver flan bearing a multi-line Arabic legend disposed across the field, reading the name and titles of Khan Mengli I Giray. The inscription, rendered in a bold cursive Naskh hand, is divided by a horizontal rule separating the upper and lower lines of text. The coin's irregular planchet and somewhat off-centre strike are characteristic of Crimean Khanate hammered coinage of the late 15th century. |

| Additional information |
Mengli I Giray consolidated Crimean Tatar authority over Caffa after Ottoman forces expelled the Genoese colony there in 1475, transforming the city from a major Genoese commercial hub into an Ottoman-administered vassal port. Coinage struck at Caffa under Mengli I Giray reflects this layered sovereignty — the khan exercised local authority while remaining formally subordinate to the Porte, a political arrangement visible in the mint's output through this period.
