| Obverse description | Crudely struck hammered silver flan of irregular outline bearing a multi-line Arabic tughra-style inscription in the field. The legend reads 'Sultan Selim ibn Suleiman Khan' arranged in stacked lines, typical of Ottoman akçe epigraphy. The script is rendered in a compressed, angular hand characteristic of small-denomination provincial issues of the period. The overall design is text-only with no figurative elements, occupying the entire flat field without a formal border. Strike quality is weak in areas, consistent with hand-hammered production at a provincial Balkan mint. |
