| Obverse description | Radiate, draped and bearded bust of Tetricus I facing right, rendered in a crude, barbarous style characteristic of unofficial imitative coinage. The radiate crown is clumsily executed, with the individual points visible but unevenly spaced. The surrounding legend is composed of debased, degenerate letterforms imitating the imperial titulature, largely illegible but recognizable as a garbled approximation of the prototype. The overall style reflects the work of an unofficial die-cutter with limited technical skill, producing a portrait that retains the general compositional elements of the Gallic Empire prototype while exhibiting pronounced stylistic degradation. |
