| Obverse description | Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the characteristic Augustan portrait style with close-cropped hair. The legend CAESAR AVGVSTVS runs around the periphery of the flan. The portrait exhibits the idealised naturalism typical of early Imperial Roman provincial coinage struck at Corinth. The flan is somewhat irregular, consistent with hammered bronze production of the period. |
