Reverse description King standing facing right in a stylized, frontal-leaning posture, holding a sankha (conch shell) in the raised hand, rendered in the schematic artistic tradition of Sinhalese kahavanu issues. Globular ornaments or pellets are arranged around the figure in the field, forming a decorative border. Sinhalese script legends appear in the field flanking the royal effigy. The design reflects the highly conventionalized iconographic tradition inherited from South Indian Chola gold coinage.
