Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena in right profile, wearing an Attic helmet adorned with a distinctive eight-pointed star on the bowl and a prominent upswept crest. The goddess is rendered in fine Hellenistic style with well-articulated facial features, and long locks of hair fall beneath the helmet onto the neck. The field is plain, with no surrounding legend.

Reverse description Owl of Athena standing facing with wings spread, perched upon a palm frond oriented diagonally across the field. Two monograms flank the bird in the left and right fields respectively. The ethnic legend AΘH N is distributed across the upper field, and the magistrate's name NIKHΦ (or similar) appears in the lower exergual area, all rendered in Greek characters.
