| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King Edward VIII facing left, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and collar. The portrait is modelled in a contemporary style, uncrowned and without regalia. The circular legend reading EDWARD・VIII・KING・E・EMPEROR runs along the upper and right periphery, separated by raised dots.
