Reverse description Reverse face bears the same type as the obverse: two crescents disposed back-to-back in opposed symmetry, with a four-pointed star centered in the field between their concave sides. The design is cast in low relief on the rough, uneven surface of the bronze flan, consistent with the aes signatum tradition of pre-monetary Central Italy. No legend, exergue, or border is present, and the relief is somewhat flatter and less distinct than the obverse, as is common for cast bars of this series.
