Obverse description In high relief, a seated nude male sculptor works with chisel and mallet on a large profile effigy of the Uruguayan Republic — a helmeted female head facing left — set within a circular panel in the field. The legend URUGUAY arcs along the upper left rim, and the engraver's signature E. PRATI appears in the lower exergue.

Reverse description The reverse features a plain field with the circular legend MINISTERIO DE INSTRVCCION PVBLICA around the upper rim and COMISION NACIONAL DE BELLAS ARTES around the lower rim. At centre, the text DECIMOCUARTO in a cartouche is followed by SALON ANVAL / DE ARTES PLASTICAS in large relief lettering; a rectangular recessed panel bears the recipient's name N. OUNANIAN, and the date 1951 appears in a cartouche below. The maker's name TAMMARO is inscribed in small letters near the lower right rim.
