| Obverse description | Facing right bust of Count Albert III rendered in crude Romanesque style, depicting the ruler with curly hair indicated by a beaded or pellet-decorated border around the head. The effigy is executed in high relief typical of 11th-century hammered deniers, with schematic facial features including a pronounced eye and simplified drapery at the shoulder. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central effigy, reading ALBERTVS with letters separated by annulets. The flan is irregular, a characteristic of hand-struck medieval coinage, with the legend partially visible depending on strike. |
