| Obverse description | Central field features the name of Count Bruno II arranged within a beaded inner circle, with the legend BRVN STAVERVN encircling the periphery in Latin capitals. The overall design is characteristic of Frisian hammered coinage of the mid-11th century, with a somewhat crude but bold die engraving style.
