The "kopje" deniers of medieval Holland take their collector name from the Dutch diminutive for "little head," distinguishing this stylized bust type from the broader regional bract and denier output of the period. Attribution between Floris IV, who died at the Corbie tournament in 1234, and his son William II — later elected German anti-king in 1247 — remains unresolved because the series shows no typological break across the transition of rule.
