| Obverse description | Draped bust of a bishop facing right, with the right hand raised in benediction and the left hand holding a book, rendered in a bold, somewhat stylized Romanesque manner characteristic of early medieval episcopal coinage. The effigy displays a crowned or mitred head with visible facial features including a prominent nose and chin. The abbreviated legend O TN appears in the field to the right of the bust, generally interpreted as a contraction of the name Otbert. The flan is irregular, as typical of hammered deniers of this period. |
