| Reverse description | Central field bearing a large Carolingian monogram composed of the letters R, A, and I, rendered in bold interlaced strokes in the early medieval hammered style. The letters are arranged in a compact, interwoven configuration typical of Carolingian royal monogram deniers of the mid-eighth century. A border of evenly spaced beads encircles the design along the coin's periphery. The flan is irregular, consistent with hand-struck production methods of the period.
