| Obverse description | Crude hammered flan bearing a stylised architectural composition of schematic towers or turrets distributed across the fields. A retrograde or irregular legend reads L E Ƨ ꓯ V I, arranged around the central design in a manner characteristic of early medieval episcopal coinage. The lettering is clumsily executed in a debased style typical of mid-11th century Rhenish ecclesiastical deniers, with individual characters occupying the quadrants between the tower motifs. The overall composition reflects the simplified workshop traditions of the Bishopric of Basel under Bishop Theoderich. |

| Reverse description | The reverse of this hammered silver denier is not documented with certainty in available numismatic references for this type. The flan appears irregular and the surface shows the characteristic flatness and uneven strike common to mid-11th century episcopal issues of the Upper Rhineland. |
