Obverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription in naskh script, arranged within an ornate interlaced cartouche or lobed border. The legend contains the name and titles of Sultan Ala ad-Din Kayqubad III. Decorative foliate or geometric motifs fill the spaces between the central inscription panel and the outer border. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, typical of hammered Seljuk silver coinage of this period.
