| Obverse description | Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic religious legend in angular Kufic-influenced script, reading the tawhid formula 'al-mulk lillah al-wahid al-qahhar' (Sovereignty belongs to God, the One, the All-Conquering). The inscription is arranged in three or four horizontal lines within the field. The design is framed by a border of raised pellets, with a wavy or rope-like inner border visible at the periphery. The flan is irregular, showing the characteristic broad, thin fabric of early Golden Horde hammered silver coinage. The strike is moderately well-centered with some weakness at the edges. |
