| Obverse description | Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged within a plain inner circle, reading the name and title of Khan Toqta (Nugtai/Tugtai), invoking justice. The legend is rendered in a bold, slightly archaic Kufic-influenced script characteristic of late 13th-century Golden Horde coinage. The entire design is enclosed within a prominent outer border of raised pellets, typical of Saqche mint issues. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, consistent with hammered silver dirhams of this period. |
