Reverse description Central field contains a multi-line Arabic inscription in angular script reading 'Qaan al-a'zam Abaqa Ilkhan al-mu'azzam Khariz' (The Supreme Qaan Abaqa, the Exalted Ilkhan, Protected), arranged in horizontal registers. The marginal legend reads 'Duriba hadha... sene sitta... (sitta)mi'a', indicating the date of minting as 676 AH (1278 CE) and the mint name Khariz (meaning 'Protected'). The reverse is enclosed within a double-beaded circular border. The hammered flan shows typical uneven striking pressure consistent with Ilkhanid mint practice.
