Obverse description A double-headed eagle displayed with spread wings, perched upon an ornamental base, all contained within a circular border. The eagle, rendered in the bold, stylized manner characteristic of Artuqid and Zengid amulet coinage, faces outward with both heads turned to the sides. Encircling the border, a mint and regnal date inscription appears in Arabic script written in words rather than numerals, identifying the Sinjar mint and the year five hundred and eighty-four of the Hijri calendar.
