Obverse description Central field occupied by a rectangular frame enclosing the Shahada in multiple lines of Kufic-influenced Arabic script: the Islamic declaration of faith presented in bold, raised lettering. A marginal legend encircles the central panel, containing the mint formula and date of striking at Nasibin. The die is struck on an irregular flan with characteristic medieval Islamic hammered technique, resulting in slight off-centering. The overall composition reflects the Abbasid-derived epigraphic dirham tradition, with purely calligraphic design devoid of figural imagery.
