Obverse description Central field features a Jochid tamgha device enclosed within a square frame, the whole contained within a knotted or interlaced circular border. The tamgha, serving as the dynastic emblem of the Golden Horde, is rendered in bold relief characteristic of the hammered technique. The design is entirely anepigraphic, with no inscriptions or legends present on this face. The interlaced border exhibits the ornamental knotwork typical of the Bulghar mint's decorative coinage of this period.
