| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of Phraates IV facing left, the diadem ends falling behind the neck. An eagle in flight to the left hovers behind the king's head, raising a wreath to crown the royal effigy. The portrait is rendered in the Hellenistic tradition characteristic of late Arsacid coinage, with fine die-engraving detail on the facial features and drapery folds. The field is largely plain, with the bust occupying the central and left portions of the flan. |
