| Obverse description | Bust of a Sasanian-style ruler facing right, depicted in the tradition of late Sasanian royal portraiture, wearing an elaborate winged crown surmounted by a crescent and globe. The effigy is rendered in low relief characteristic of Arab-Sasanian coinage, with the face shown in profile. Marginal Arabic legends are present in the outer annulus of the field, surrounding the central bust in the Kufic script of the early Abbasid period. |
