Comments

This is not a genuine banknote. "Etat du Mississippi" issues are fantasy or novelty items — printed souvenirs with no monetary authority behind them, no legal tender status, and no issuing bank. The French-language title gestures at Louisiana Purchase-era nomenclature, but no such issuing body ever existed.

Collectors should be aware these circulate in mixed lots and occasionally appear mislabeled in bulk auction listings.
