Eurosymboles was a French novelty publisher that produced a range of fantasy "euro" notes ahead of and during the euro's 2002 cash introduction, sold as promotional items, educational aids, and collector curiosities. These were never legal tender and were not issued by any monetary authority. "Le hérisson" — the hedgehog — belongs to this series of themed fantasy denominations, each built around a whimsical subject rather than the architectural motifs adopted for genuine euro notes.

Notaphilically marginal, but occasionally collected as ephemera documenting the popular culture surrounding the eurozone transition.
