| Obverse description | Central design features a stylized castle gateway rendered within a polylobe frame embellished with alternating rosettes and trefoils, all enclosed by a beaded inner circle. The architectural motif — the emblem of Genoa — is executed in the flat, linear style characteristic of medieval Italian hammered gold coinage.
