Reverse description The reverse presents a purely epigraphic design composed entirely of Kufic Arabic script arranged in multiple horizontal registers within a plain inner circle, closely following the layout of contemporary Almohad gold dinars. Five lines of densely packed Kufic legend fill the central area, recording the ruler's title, name, patronymic, a pious invocation, and the mint and date of issue. A broad marginal band carries a further Kufic circular legend, the whole enclosed within a raised beaded outer border. There is no figurative imagery; the overall aesthetic deliberately mimics the format of Islamic coinage to facilitate acceptance in cross-cultural Iberian commerce.
