Reverse description An eagle displayed in left profile, perched upon a horizontal sceptre, with wings spread and the right talon grasping a laurel wreath. The eagle is rendered in bold, high relief with strong feather detail, closely emulating the reverse type of Roman Republican denarii associated with Pomponius Rufus (73 BC). The field is plain, with no exergual inscription. The overall style reflects a synthesis of Hellenistic and Roman Republican artistic conventions, characteristic of late first-century BC Dacian gold coinage.
