Reverse description A globus cruciger (imperial orb) displayed at centre, enclosed within a six-lobed polyfoil frame whose cusps are decorated with small trefoil or floral ornaments, consistent with the Rhenish goldgulden tradition. The orb is clearly divided by a horizontal band and a vertical cross, symbolising imperial dominion over the Christian world. The entire device is set within a beaded inner border, with the mint legend running in uncial Gothic lettering in the outer legend band between the inner beaded circle and the milled rim.
