Additional information

The Archéodrome de Beaune was a now-closed open-air archaeological theme park situated alongside the A6 autoroute in Burgundy, opened in 1978 and shuttered in 2005. It reconstructed prehistoric and Gallo-Roman sites, with particular emphasis on Caesar's siege of Alésia — the 52 BC engagement in which Vercingetorix surrendered, effectively sealing Roman control of Gaul. Jetons of this type were produced as visitor souvenirs rather than exchange tokens, placing them firmly in the exonumia category.
