Obverse description Conjoined laureate busts of Christian VII and Caroline Mathilda facing right in high relief, the queen wearing a laurel wreath and pearl necklace, the king in classical armour. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigies, with the engraver's signature I·H·WOLFF F· incuse at the bottom of the field. A raised border ring frames the design.

Reverse description Standing draped female figure of Laetitia Augusta in the centre of the field, holding a laurel wreath in her raised left hand and resting her right hand on an anchor at her side; the abbreviated legend LAET · and AVG · flanks the figure. The legend RECVRRENTIBVS SIGNIS arcs along the upper border, while a three-line dedicatory inscription in the exergue below a horizontal ground line records the date of the royal marriage. A raised border ring frames the design.
