Obverse description Conjoined busts of King Christian VIII and Queen Caroline Amalie in high relief, facing right, with the Queen wearing a crown. The engraver's signature C. CHRISTENSEN appears in the lower field. A circular legend surrounds the effigies along the rim.

Reverse description Central device of a crossed sword and scepter beneath the Danish royal crown, all within an open laurel wreath tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The legend GUD OG FÆDRELANDET arcs along the upper rim, and the anointing date SALVEDE XXVIII JUNII MDCCCXL is inscribed along the lower rim within the border of beads.
