Obverse description Right-facing laureate bust of King Frederick V, with flowing curled hair, draped and armored, in high relief against a smooth field. The engraver's signature appears below the bust along the lower rim. The circular legend runs along the upper periphery.

Reverse description A crowned and veiled female figure personifying Denmark is seated left, holding a trumpet in her left hand and a stone tablet in her right. A winged genius, identifiable by a star on his head representing the North Star, stands to her right and presents an unrolled map inscribed with geographic names including NORVEGIA, DANIA, ITALIA, and GRACIA. Books, scrolls, and additional maps are scattered on the ground. The legend VINCET AMOR PATRIAE arches across the upper field, and a three-line inscription in the exergue records the issuing society and date.
