| Obverse description | Large facing bust of Julian Ursyn Niemcewicz with long flowing hair and period dress, filling nearly the entire field. The name JULIAN URSYN NIEMCEWICZ curves along the upper rim, and the birth and death dates 1758-1841 appear in the lower exergue. A small engraver's mark is visible to the lower right of the bust. |
