| Reverse description | A classical funerary monument in relief occupies the centre of the field, surmounted by a standing female figure (Lady Justice or Liberty) at its apex and flanked by three miniature portrait busts of Baptist ministers along the upper section. The body of the monument bears an inscribed tablet with the dedication text, below which four small figures in low relief depict emancipated Africans engaged in various activities. A scroll at the base and the maker's name DAVIS. BIRM. appear in the lower exergue, with the biblical legend encircling the border. |
